F.A.Q.
F.A.Q. September 27th, 2011 · : These Frequently Asked Questions are intended to clear up some of the common queries that we’ve had over the last few days. We will be continually adding to this page as more issues arise. Thank you.
What is Occupy Together? We look at Occupy Together as being a hub for all of the events springing up across the country in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. As we have followed the news on facebook, twitter, and the various live feeds across the internet, we felt compelled to build a site that would help spread the word as more protests organize across the country. We hope to provide people with information about events that are organizing, ongoing, and building across the U.S. as we, the 99%, take action against the greed and corruption of the 1%.
How are you affiliated with Occupy Wall Street? We are in no way representatives or spokespeople of Occupy Wall Street. We were inspired by the movement currently taking place in Liberty Plaza and saw other actions popping up across the country and wanted to provide a means for others to find out what actions were taking place in their city, state, and region.
How many people are involved with Occupy Together? This is as grassroots as it gets. It started out with two of us, sitting around, watching the news feeds and information roll out and wanting to help in some way. Since our incarnation, we have had more volunteers begin to help with the site and overall maintenance. What is your agenda? Are you anarchists/democrats/republicans/independents/etc.? We have no agenda other than to provide people with information about the events and actions happening in their area in solidarity and support of those that currently Occupy Wall St. Our political and social beliefs will remain neutral for this cause; this is not about us, this is about the movement. The only thing we will promote openly is peaceful demonstrations.
I am unaware of what the protests on Wall St. are all about, where can I get more info? As more and more information becomes available (both good and bad), a good place to start would be at the source by visiting the Occupy Wall Street webpage. Other first steps to informing yourself include The New York General Assembly webpage and their official facebook page.

I have contacted you and I still do not see our page/information listed. What gives? We are just a group of volunteers trying hard to get the most accurate and up-to-date information about these actions posted as quickly as possible. If you do not see your event/page listed or updated within 24 hours of contacting us, please send us another email in case it happened to have been lost in the shuffle.
What should I do if there are two (or more) groups organizing in my area? It is incredibly important to remember that this is a leaderless movement and that, in the spirit of solidarity and to create a more unified movement, it is best to put aside any personal grievances, self-interest, egos, and grudges to come together to form one solid group for your community. When people band together, no matter what their differences may be, the cause is strengthened in their numbers.
Should this occur, the groups should communicate civilly to decide which group to absorb into and delete the other groups/pages in order to prevent confusion amongst others would would like to join you.
One of the links/information on your site is inaccurate/maliciously providing misinformation. What should I do? Please contact us about the link or information in question but please provide us with adequate evidence that it is inaccurate. We are getting so much information that it is hard for us to thoroughly research all of the claims and requests and we want to provide the most accurate information possible.
Can you help us organize our event? Unfortunately, we are not able to help you organize your solidarity effort. We do not have the resources to help out in this capacity. If you need ideas or assistance in getting organized, research and model yourself off of Occupy Wall St to show your solidarity with this cause.
Can you help me/our group with legal assistance? We cannot offer you legal assistance, we are merely a hub for actions in your area. However, we can point you to the National Lawyers Guild and the ACLU.
I would like to get in touch with someone from Occupy _______. Can you help me? Sorry, no. Please look for links and contact information and email them directly.
Why aren’t you supporting international events? We are currently focusing our efforts on getting all of our national solidarity actions listed. We have plans to include international activities in the days to come. To be clear, we definitely support our brothers and sisters in all countries who are standing in solidarity with Occupy Wall St.
Why isn’t my comment showing up on your blog/page? In order to prevent spamming, we must approve your first comment to this site. If we are not around at the time of your first comment, it may take some time to get around to it. We are not censoring/moderating the comments unless a comment is inciting violence, intentionally deceiving, or involved with illegal activities.
I saw a webpage asking for donations with the Occupy Together name. Is this you? No. We will never ask you for donations for maintenance to this site or for occupiers. These are most likely scams trying to cash-in on the movement. Be aware that there are going to be people that want to capitalize on people’s willingness to donate money. We suggest that you do a little research before donating.
I want to make a poster. What are the design specs? Because of limited funds, most people would prefer to have grayscale posters/fliers at 8.5″ x 11″ that they would be able to print off on their inkjet printers. The less black/color in the design, the quicker it will be to print and the less resources it will take. For a print quality design (and for us to post it), we require it to be 300 dpi and in PDF format.
I have photos and want you to put them on your site, how do I go about getting them to you? We would love to use your photos on our site but, due to lack of time, we will need you to have them on a flickr account. If you have photos on your flicrk, please send us the link to photos[at]occupytogether[dot]com.
I have videos and want you to put them on your site, how do I go about getting them to you? Again, we would love to put them up but they will need to be on a youtube/vimeo or other third party site. If you have videos loaded somewhere, please send us the link to videos[at]occupytogether[dot]com.

How do I get involved?
- First and foremost, if you can get to Liberty Plaza to join those that Occupy Wall St., you should do everything that you can to get there. This is the heart of the movement and the inspiration for what is happening across the country. Here is a facebook page to arrange carpools: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Carpool-to-Occupy-Wallstreet/222614057794752.
- If you are unable to support Occupy Wall Street in person and have the means to monetarily donate, visit Occupy Wall Street’s webpage and consider donating through their website. They have a list of things that they need and ways that you can help.
- Get informed and let everyone you know what is happening down on Wall Street, what this movement is about, and stay updated.
- If you want to show your support in person, search for a solidarity effort in your region via our website. You can find actions in your area via our Events pages.
- Remember, there are strength in numbers. It may be much more beneficial to the cause if you travel to a larger gathering than for you to set-up a smaller event in your area. If there is nothing going on close to you, start talking to others and organizing an event.
